Karim Benzema on his way? Click the arrow above for more news – Following the failure to land Luis Suarez and Gonzalo Higuain, the Telegraph report that Arsene Wenger has turned to Higuain's former team-mate Karim Benzema. The Arsenal manager is said to be prepared to pay Real Madrid £40m for the striker, who moved to the Bernabeu in 2009 in a £35m deal. Although they would be reluctant to sell Benzema, Real may do so in order to fund Gareth Bale's transfer and they would hardly be lacking in goals anyway, with Alvaro Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo among the ranks as well as the expected arrival of Bale.Vicente Guaita – Valencia 'keeper on the plane from Spain? – talkSPORT recently revealed that a representative from Arsenal was heading to Spain to discuss the transfer of Valencia goalkeeper Vicente Guaita. However, the Mirror report that club president Amadeo Salvo knocked the Gunners back following an apparent £6m bid. I am surprised by the proposition put forward. It is absolutely insufficient. I did not even consider it, he said. Guaita is thought to have a £20m buy-out clause, while Arsenal are also keen on Asmir Begovic, but Stoke understandably want to keep him.Micah Richards: Man City's Arsenal fan wants Emirates deal? – The Mirror also claim that Wenger is keen on Man City right-back and Arsenal fan Micah Richards, who is apparently up for moving to the Emirates. A hamstring injury is sidelining him at the moment, though the Daily Star say City want to keep their academy product.Yohan Cabaye: increased bid could tempt Toon – Sky Sports explain that their sources reckon Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye is open to an Arsenal move. The Gunners have already had a £10m turned down, but an improved offer of around £18m-£20m may make the Magpies reconsider. The Independent, though, go with stories of PSG's interest in Cabaye and that once again, Wenger could lose out in the market.Angel di Maria: Podolski replacement? – With rumours surrounding Lukas Podolski and a move to Schalke, the Metro are claiming that Angel di Maria is being lined up to replace the Germany international. As Real try to close the Gareth Bale deal, Di Maria is said to have been offered around to various clubs in an attempt to scrape together cash to pay Tottenham. The Metro also say Wenger was close to taking Di Maria to Arsenal in 2007 before he joined Benfica from Rosario Central in Argentina.Paul Pogba: Juventus star ruled out – "Forget about Pogba," Beppe Marotta, Juventus' director general is quoted as saying in Italian outlet Tuttosport. We do not have the slightest intention of listening to any offer which may arrive for our midfielder, after rumours of Arsenal's interest surfaced.
